Beauty lies within.

Assalammualaikum.

Well; really - some people are the epitome of pathetic. And it hurts so bad that I have to label myself something that relates me to a being that nonchalantly ridicules another due to the pigmentation of their skin. To go as far as to threaten, mock and physically abusing another being ... for the shade of their skin colour. To regard that race, that skin colour, that shade, that pigmentation as inferior solely based on something they have no control over.

And then you have these beautiful, breathtaking and gorgeously wonderful-looking pretty girls, who turn to these bleaching creams to try to rid themselves of this 'sin' of black that's been imprinted on them as if it's the most regrettable act in the history of mankind. Day after day their skin lightens and the confidence increases and the skin glimmers and the health deteriorates but who cares? As long as your skin is as hue of Izara Aishah (after making her debut in "Vanilla Coklat") and as white as Lisa Surihani (after her success) and other celebrities, who cares what happens to your internal health?

It's so pathetic how these men scavenger these women and judging based on their shade of pigmentation. Relating attractiveness to hue and white. It's almost pathetic how these girls fall for it and judge themselves with the eyes of another, eyes that are by the way - completely blind.

You get a pathetic generation of people who you call us. There are you inside it. You have your parents, your siblings and even your teachers and best comrades inside it. Should I be include or should I being left as "not related to any kind of terms I'm appointing for the time being?". We are this pathetic generation of people who have nothing better to do than to blindly assemble what we feel is beautiful into little compartments and anyone who doesn't fit it, is exiled from the land of beauty. Every single one of us is to blame. Don't just blame the men. Don't just blame the women. Don't just blame the society as we are the society. We are the men and we are the women that set these standards for each other and until we realize how pathetic we are for it, this generation will give birth to an even more pathetic generation with even worse beliefs.

Oh wait.

They have always said, "beauty is only skin deep." But I'd like to respectfully disagree. Because the veins that map your body from fingertip to fingertip, toe to toe, and everything in between, lies below the skin. Because the thoughts, the ideas, that run in your brain as electrical currents, sparks of imagination - literally, lies below your skin. Because the heart that pumps life through all of you, with every badump and badump, loop-di-doop and all again, lies below the skin. Because the lungs that fill and deflate, like the swells of of the ocean under stormy skies, lies below the skin. Because your voice box, reciting Quran, reciting zikr, giving words of nasihat, yelled anger, whispered love, yelled anger; lies below your skin.

Assalammualaikum.
